Hey! I enjoy reading YOUR Substack and listening to the music. And nothing is better than sitting back and watching the littles play, especially as their play together moments increase as they age. The worlds they create are as magical as this post and the music you created!
Just floating through substack and found your work. I've been looking for those who are creating work and telling stories on here.. its something I have been exploring but have not been sure how to achieve it on Substack (which I use predominantly for poetry/prose) .
I really like how youve combine the music with some memory and meaning/inspiration.
Art and being outdoors! (poetry, writing, building and designing, too!!) Gorgeous, sweet and clever- love your creativity and wisdom- music to my ears, heart and soul. Thank you for sharing your "child" play and Sounds of Story, Niamh!
Really lovely Niamh. Soothing and felt like an escape listening along. The music brings back memories of me and my friends jumping the small hedges and walls over to our neighbours gardens when we were small, then onto the next and the next! The playful risk of adventure and pure joy of discovering new ground in a village where you lived metres from people but never truly knew them at all.
Thanks so much Una! I often think of how close we live to people and may never really know them at all. Thanks for sharing your memory! I can imagine you hopping the walls!
There's such playful childlike innocence in this piece of music, pure emotion. Thank you @niamh Fahy. Thank you to Matt at FogChaser for his recommendation to listen to your music. Perhaps each of you could contribute to the next Music-Memories piece in follow up to this one: https://www.carermentor.com/p/music-memory-is-more-powerful-than.
Anything you wish that can connect and lift readers beyond their immediate struggles. Thanks
Thank you so much for your kind words Victoria and for your very generous pledge! I'm unsure when or if I will turn on paid, but your support is so very valued! I would be delighted to contribute to your next Music-Memories piece. I am a music therapist and worked for many years with people who had neurodegenerative diseases. Daily, I got to witness the power of music on people's quality of life whether it was due to orienting to time and place or bringing a brightness into that moment. I saw Substack introduced the DM feature today so if that works best I can send my contribution that way?
You're very welcome, Niamh. The composition needs no words in its ability to connect - hence my pledge to support your work. I'm going over to DM'g now ;-)
Whoa - this is absolutely stunning. You have such a distinctive way with melody - this song is totally transporting me. Beautiful work! And thank you for the mention 😌
Wow! I loved the tune that came with the story. This is the first time I've seen such an addition in all my time on Substack. It's both unique and beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks lady! Striving to create like the magical worlds our littles create for sure!
Blast of nostalgia despite my hayless upbringing. I love soaking in these stories, great short read, and the perfect music to go with it. 🥲

Happy to have found you!

Thanks so much for your lovely words Robin. Your comment slipped by me until now. And yes to art and the outdoors!!
Beautiful melody. I loved the Deborah Levy book, too.
Thanks so much Kim! Did you have any other favourite's of hers?
That is the only one I have read to date.
